14:24 <eddiefantastic> luke-jr: working now
14:31 <guru3> i wonder if it's possible to have two forums sharing user accounts
14:36 <wrtlprnft> i'm sure you can do some voodoo sql magic to link two tables
14:36 <wrtlprnft> so they think they have their own users tabe each but really don't
14:36 <guru3> i was thinking of php voodoo to slave one install to the other
14:36 <guru3> but you've got a good idea too
14:37 <wrtlprnft> :-)
14:38 <guru3> i'm wondering if another semi-official armagetron forum might be an OK idea
14:39 <wrtlprnft> can't you hack together a special view that only shows a subset of the actual forums?
14:40 <guru3> hmmm
14:40 <guru3> that's also an interesting idea
14:40 <guru3> only a few things would need real changes
14:41 <guru3> the index page, the search page
14:41 <wrtlprnft> i just wonder what you intend to gain from this over just making another category for inofficial stuff
14:41 <guru3> forum view pages and drop downs
14:41 <wrtlprnft> i don't think it will prevent people from carrying things from one forum to another
14:41 <guru3> well, it's a bit silly of me
14:41 <guru3> but i'd rather not have to read some of this crap
14:42 <wrtlprnft> heh, that i understand
14:42 <guru3> and while out of sight out of mind might not be a brilliant idea
14:42 <wrtlprnft> treat it the same as the other languages subforum?
14:42 <guru3> hmm
14:43 <wrtlprnft> it probably won't be much more readable anyhow :-P
14:43 <guru3> yeah but by still keeping it on there i worry about the first impression that might be made to new community members
14:44 <wrtlprnft> ah, i see
14:44 <guru3> if i was me 6 years ago going to found an armagetron community and saw that shit
14:44 <guru3> i wouldn't do it again
14:44 <wrtlprnft> maybe a special user setting, “I want to see stupid crap”, in the profile?
14:44 <guru3> that would tie in with the seperate views idea
14:45 <wrtlprnft> but it wouldn't be all that separate anymore, if you were interested in both you wouldn't have the hassle of two different forums
14:45 <guru3> true
14:45 <guru3> i was sort of thinking though that the second forum could be put in community hands rather than developer hands
14:46 <guru3> only you know, keeping it secure from stupid community hacking attempts
14:46 <wrtlprnft> well, you could assign your own moderators to that other forum, and for adding/removing/renaming forums they would just have to go through you
14:47 <guru3> so perhaps something more like a re-organization of the forums
14:49 <wrtlprnft> i mean, i wouldn't want to host a forum and not intend to read it at all for legal reasons
14:50 <guru3> i see your point

is a site that has tools, maps, and other various items. It orignally only existed as a server control panel, but I slowly began adding stuff such as a homepage and tools.

This is an LLM-free zone. In general, I am unwilling to use (fight with) any form of "GenAI" to write code for me. So, for the forseeable future, everything on this site will continue to be written by a very silly goose (wait that's me honk honk) with some parts written by other humans as well (silly hu-mon) rather than any plausible-series-of-words token-eating machine. Even my libraries are out of date, and suddenly that's a good thing!
(Although the style has changed several times and content has been added and changed, the base of this site has barely been updated since 2015. But it Ain't Broke!)
This site is also occasionally tested with older browsers, but compatibility is not guarenteed. Although, if you have an old obscure browser and something isn't working that previously did, I guess you can tell me (nelg) about it...
