00:00 <joda_bot> epsy luke-jr: Interrupting question: Is the include "eEventNotfication.pb.h" a generated file ?
00:01 <dlh> yes
00:01 <joda_bot> what part does generate it ?
00:01 <dlh> google protobuf
00:01 <dlh> you need to install that
00:01 <joda_bot> Because I need that file for the windows build :-|
00:01 <dlh> joda_bot: http://code.google.com/p/protobuf/
00:02 <dlh> Look in src/protobuf
00:02 <dlh> protoc takes a .proto file and outputs the .pb.cc and .pb.h files
00:02 <epsy> bueh, I'll need to seriousely take a look over this
00:02 <joda_bot> is there a prebuild win32 executable ?
00:03 <epsy> before working on eEvent
00:03 <dlh> looks like it
00:03 <dlh> there is a windows binary download
00:03 <joda_bot> guess I found it
00:03 <joda_bot> th
00:03 <epsy> hopefully hooks don't depend on pb :)
00:03 <joda_bot> hm, any other new build tools ?

00:03 <@armabot> flea: (help [<plugin>] [<command>]) -- This command gives a useful description of what <command> does. <plugin> is only necessary if the command is in more than one plugin.
00:03 <epsy> bzr ? :)
00:03 <joda_bot> ok, I know about that :D
00:04 <joda_bot> otherwise I would not have the source code :-)
00:04 <dlh> I think sortresources is now a pure python script

00:04 <epsy> good night

00:05 <dlh> No, it has been updated. There was a sortresources bash script, now there is a sortresources.py (or something) to replace it.

02:27 <nsh22> oh...
02:27 <luke-jr> o i c
02:27 <luke-jr> Due to security reasons Konversation does a DCOP query to kdesktop, whether kscreensaver is active, if this call doesn't get a response, it doesn't turn the OSD on1. Since neither DCOP nor KDesktop is running in KDE 4, Konversation can't check the screensaver status and deactivates the OSD completely, which distrubes those who are used to the OSD a lot.

17:27 <BabyBug> isn't everything a bit of a mess?
17:27 <luke-jr> haha

17:28 <ct|kyle> luke-jr: thats where the function is called, but the actual function in in gWinZone.cpp
17:28 <luke-jr> ct|kyle: gWinZone.cpp is about to be deleted
17:28 <ct|kyle> orly?
17:29 <luke-jr> gWinZone.cpp was specific to zones v1
17:29 <animuson> i found what was looking for luke-jr ^_^
17:29 <luke-jr> my v1v2 branch has mostly made zones v1 unnecessary
17:30 <luke-jr> it parses v1 maps into v2 zones, and syncs with v1 clients when possible
17:30 <luke-jr> so zones v1 is now only used for: v1 servers (fixed by z-man's protobuf branch), fortress, and sty
17:31 <BabyBug> which you're planning to change?
17:31 <BabyBug> right?
17:31 <animuson> what cool new stuff have u added?
17:31 <luke-jr> BabyBug: Fortress at least
17:31 <animuson> will sty+ct settings be included in the new release?
17:31 <luke-jr> animuson: that question is very vague ;p
17:31 <luke-jr> animuson: what "new release"?
17:31 <animuson> the next release of armagetron
17:31 <animuson> :P
17:32 <luke-jr> 0.2.8.3 will only be bugfixes, in theory
17:32 <animuson> :(
17:32 <luke-jr> 0.3.1 won't have sty
17:32 <animuson> thats no help
17:32 <luke-jr> 0.3.2 might
17:32 <luke-jr> no plans to merge CT afaik
17:32 <animuson> have u added specifying fortress team ownership yet?
17:32 <luke-jr> as I mentioned, Fortress isn't ported to zones v2 yet

17:33 <luke-jr> which needs to happen before anything about it changes
17:33 <animuson> well im working on zone changes so i guess ill keep at it :P
17:34 <luke-jr> animuson: "zone changes"?
17:34 <luke-jr> animuson: whatever you do, make sure it's in a branch of trunk ☺
17:34 <luke-jr> or a branch of v1v2 if you want backward compat
17:34 <animuson> im trying to add options to the zones so u can specify different colors for them
17:34 <animuson> in the xml
17:34 <luke-jr> animuson: you can already do that
17:34 <animuson> ?
17:35 <luke-jr> <Color …/> inside the ShapeCircle
17:35 <animuson> i never saw that in any documentation :P
17:35 <luke-jr> our docs suck
17:35 <luke-jr> please revise
17:35 <luke-jr> I suggest reading map-0.3.1-a.dtd
17:35 <luke-jr> ☺
17:35 <BabyBug> there's documentation? O.o
17:35 <animuson> lol babybug XD
17:36 <luke-jr> animuson: http://resource.armagetronad.net/resource/map-0.3.1-a.dtd
17:36 <luke-jr> might also want to read: http://resource.armagetronad.net/resource/philippeqc/fortress/quadFortress-a.aamap.xml
17:37 <animuson> wow theres a lot of settings in there ive never seen before XD
17:37 <luke-jr> zones v2
17:38 <BabyBug> better known as "We were noobs the first time so had to redo them kind of zones"
17:38 <luke-jr> animuson: for practical purposes, you need my v1v2 branch to use those settings
17:39 <luke-jr> 0.3.0+ might work, but 0.2.8 clients can't play then
17:39 <luke-jr> BabyBug: the original map format didn't support zones at all
17:39 <luke-jr> they were hacked in as a "hey, why not?"
17:39 <BabyBug> exactly!
17:39 <animuson> i never figured out how to use the auth-trunk thing :P
17:39 <luke-jr> O.o
17:39 <luke-jr> auth-trunk thing?
17:40 <animuson> to add ur own authentication
17:40 <luke-jr> …
17:40 <luke-jr> unrelated
17:40 <luke-jr> bzr branch lp:~luke-jr/armagetronad/armagetronad-zones-v1v2/
17:40 <luke-jr> use that ☺
17:41 <animuson> this will or will not work with sty+ct?
17:42 <luke-jr> it is entirely different from sty+ct
17:42 <animuson> does it still have shooting?
17:42 <luke-jr> no
17:42 <luke-jr> you can merge 0.3-sty to get it
17:42 <luke-jr> but that's still zones v1
17:42 <luke-jr> and won't work with the Color element
17:43 <animuson> cant i merge the color element into sty+ct?

17:43 <luke-jr> the color element is zones v2
17:44 <luke-jr> sty+ct is zones v1
17:44 <luke-jr> animuson: you're welcome to join the 0.3-sty project and port sty to zones v2
17:44 <animuson> so then id need to find a way to modify zones v1 still :P
17:44 <luke-jr> and after that, add CT on top
17:44 <luke-jr> no
17:44 <luke-jr> that's the wrong direction
17:44 <luke-jr> zones v1 is history
17:44 <luke-jr> dead end
17:44 <luke-jr> the correct approach is to port sty+ct to zones v2
17:44 <animuson> thats harder tho :P
17:45 <animuson> id prefer to take the easy path and wait for someone else to do the harder path for me XD
17:45 <animuson> lol
17:45 <luke-jr> it also has people already working on it
17:45 <luke-jr> animuson: also, the zones v1 sty is BUGGY
17:45 <animuson> id also have to modify the race timer to work with zones v2
17:46 <animuson> which still doesnt even work right as it is
17:47 <luke-jr> >_<
17:47 <luke-jr> so you mean
