14:22 <epsy> by the way, that discussion with mokey is going nowhere IMO, we're already talking about monkey's "features" for 0.3..
14:24 <freako5> So u want good bug reports for it?
14:24 <epsy> I want 0.2.8.3 out before 0.3.2, sipmply
14:26 <freako5> I understand that, but will 0.2.8.3 servers accept 0.3 clients?
14:26 <z-man-work> yes.
14:26 <z-man-work> and we always want good bug reports :)
14:27 * freako5 stil wonders, how can he make a good bug report from random game freezes ;)
14:28 <epsy> tell what you where doing, tell us when it happened, perhaps stdout logs, and most of all a recording
14:28 <epsy> were*
14:30 <freako5> I was playing the game/, It froze after loading the round start, /There is no other possibillity then rebooting the pc (because it causes the whole pc to crash /<-- only when playing arma) (happend about 5x last week)
14:31 <epsy> the whole pc to crash?
14:31 <freako5> (it's looks random/ but it mostly happens on fully crowded server/laggy servers)
14:31 <epsy> version, OS?
14:31 <freako5> 0.3- Windows
14:31 <z-man-work> Doesn't matter :) Whole PC crashes -> Always blame the driver or hte OS.
14:31 <epsy> gfx card? drivers?
14:31 <freako5> 9600GTS
14:32 <epsy> is that nvidia? I don't have the mindreader set up correctly
14:32 <freako5> yeah thats nvidia (vsync off)
14:32 <epsy> well try to turn vsync on
14:33 <z-man-work> That would probably only slow the bug down.
14:33 <freako5> vsync on doesnt work on my pc... It-s unstable
14:33 <epsy> update the drivers
14:33 <freako5> refresh rate of my screen is 80 ,,, my fps is normally about 750+
14:34 <freako5> with vsync on its about 33
14:34 <freako5> (latest drivers)
14:34 <epsy> that's why you should use vsync instead of burning your screen
14:34 <freako5> I can only play with vsync on,, when I play local first
14:34 <freako5> Then the fps will be 80 all the time
14:34 <epsy> well, make sure the process table isn't too crowded
14:34 <epsy> you still didn't tell us the version
14:35 <freako5> gotta look. have like 12 installed versions on arma on my pc
14:35 <epsy> 0.3.0? the two years old version?
14:35 <freako5> 0.3 but not the oldest one
14:36 <epsy> z-man-work, also: when are we, and are we going to fully switch to bzr/lp ?
14:36 <freako5> beta.armagettronad.net would just open :)
14:37 <freako5> if*
14:37 <epsy> i doubt it would
14:37 <freako5> blah ur right
14:37 <epsy> yeah, it spells with one t
14:37 <z-man-work> epsy: we need a stable backend for releases. You can't properly tag in bzr.
14:38 <freako5> nah epsy. the site isnt loading
14:38 <z-man-work> So we're not going to drop svn any time soon, we may move it away from SF.
14:38 <freako5> De webpagina kan niet worden weergegeven <--- The site can't be opened
14:38 <epsy> z-man-work, bzr tag?
14:38 <epsy> http://beta.armagetronad.net/ opens here
14:38 <z-man-work> Does that work?
14:38 <epsy> I *think* so
14:39 <epsy> check on that http-auth-server branch
14:39 <freako5> nope. the site isn't loading on my pc
14:39 <epsy> I should have tagged that beta I released few weeks ago
14:45 <freako5> not more knowledge then 0.3.x
14:55 <z-man-work> Cool, bzr tag works sweet
14:55 <z-man-work> tags even survive getting merged.
14:56 <epsy> eh, now it's svn which doesn't tag properly? :P
14:59 <z-man-work> It was luke who claims that svn is the only source control system handling tags correctly :)
15:00 <z-man-work> I always found the copy method kind of clumsy and error prone.

15:43 <z-man-work> I suppose you couldn't, either?
15:43 <Durka> ct|kyle, madmax, freako5 http://forums.armagetronad.net/viewtopic.php?p=200785#200785
15:43 <Durka> theres the scenarios
15:43 <freako5> durka: it has the same location as the WW server,,, thought my ping is 2x then WW-s / So, can't we use pinktomatoes server for it? if he likes? / It-s hosted by the same company as ww :)
15:44 <Durka> freako we used reps for the tst
15:44 <Durka> it was fine
15:44 <Durka> in fact we all had better pings than ww
15:44 <freako5> I even heard that, that pink-s was better for americans 2 :P
15:44 <Durka> fix ur internet
15:44 <Durka> ill go join reps right now
15:45 <Durka> 89 ping
15:45 <Durka> thats the same as i get in WW
15:46 <freako5> Ill test all 3
15:46 <Durka> ok well i g2g
15:46 <Durka> cya

15:49 <freako5> That durka doesnt understand... That r3p-s server is closer to me,, but still has a higher ping :O
15:50 <freako5> 80+
15:53 <epsy> well, say, you're phoning with your mobile phone to your mate that's in the next room
15:53 <epsy> is it a direct link? nope, it transits through the operator's network
15:53 <freako5> Yes i get why..
15:53 <epsy> same happens for the internet, except that you often leave your operator's network
15:53 <freako5> Or the connection is slower... or its connected to europe trough different cable/satelites
15:54 <epsy> well, hoax had for a long time a really crap ping at G5's server
15:54 <epsy> we found out that the packets were routed through america
15:54 <freako5> yes.. depends how it-s connected,,, I'll traceroute both servers though
15:55 <epsy> also, the europe-us links are not done via satellite if I remember correctly
15:55 <epsy> 100ms would be impossible with satellite
15:55 <freako5> Yeah I said / , because I wasnt sure wich it was
15:56 <freako5> ah epsy.. You said I could never use an proxy on arma? I have it now ;)
15:57 <epsy> well, if you assimilate a router to a proxy, which is a false assumption, you would be having a proxy for everything
15:58 <freako5> http://www.anchorfree.com/
15:58 <freako5> It work's and u even will have a low-ping if u live near a routing city
15:59 <epsy> what does it do?
15:59 <freako5> Everything I send,Do, whatever
15:59 <epsy> that's only for browser navigation
15:59 <freako5> nope
15:59 <epsy> show me
15:59 <freako5> g5 checked it, he found out I was living in America :O
16:00 <epsy> checked WHAT

• Design:
» Layout is loosely based on an old design by Durf.
» Icons on the tools page were originally by Royce, new icons added will try to follow some of the design language.
» Various other icon selections include icons from Crystal, crystalsvg, oxygen, and breeze icon themes.
» Other icons: fontawesome

is a site that has tools, maps, and other various items. It orignally only existed as a server control panel, but I slowly began adding stuff such as a homepage and tools.

This is an LLM-free zone. In general, I am unwilling to use (fight with) any form of "GenAI" to write code for me. So, for the forseeable future, everything on this site will continue to be written by a very silly goose (wait that's me honk honk) with some parts written by other humans as well (silly hu-mon) rather than any plausible-series-of-words token-eating machine. Even my libraries are out of date, and suddenly that's a good thing!
(Although the style has changed several times and content has been added and changed, the base of this site has barely been updated since 2015. But it Ain't Broke!)
This site is also occasionally tested with older browsers, but compatibility is not guarenteed. Although, if you have an old obscure browser and something isn't working that previously did, I guess you can tell me (nelg) about it...
