13:42 <freako5> ah, just a little question
13:43 <freako5> how does an sumo tournament sound.. just normal 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1
13:44 <epsy> more 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1
13:44 <epsy> or*
13:44 <freako5> ah said it wrong
13:44 <freako5> I mean 2 zones.. of 1vs1vs1vs1
13:44 <epsy> yeah
13:45 <freako5> with 8 people per server we need less of them :)
13:45 <epsy> there
13:45 <epsy> there's 8 people per server in TST

20:22 <freako5> hey, I have an question for you guys :)
20:23 <freako5> Is it possible to assign a certain spawn point to a player? on sumo?
20:26 <K-Yo> freako5, to a player?
20:26 <K-Yo> freako5, what player?
20:26 <K-Yo> how would you chose him?
20:26 <freako5> I mean is there a way, with armahacktron for example
20:27 <freako5> that the player with number *1*
20:27 <freako5> will always start at spawnpoint 1?
20:27 <freako5> without rotating
20:32 <freako5> K-Yo: We already got to the point, that it will be servers with 2 zones of 1vs1vs1vs1
20:32 <K-Yo> hmm
20:32 <K-Yo> with armahacktron probably, let me chack
20:33 <freako5> and I guess its not possible to let people rotate in their own zone?
20:33 <freako5> if the zones get divided by walls
20:33 <hang3r> wtf is armahacktron
20:34 <freako5> arma+many add-ons
20:34 <freako5> like sty and new zone-systems
20:34 <hang3r> So some kind of fork?
20:34 <freako5> fork?
20:35 <hang3r> nvm
20:35 -!- G5 [n=G5@cl-506.dus-01.de.sixxs.net] has joined #Armagetron
20:35 <K-Yo> freako5, atm, players are placed according to their scores right?
20:35 <freako5> yes, and we dont want that... because lower-rated players get advantage then
20:35 <K-Yo> true
20:36 <freako5> and we need 8 people per server (4/5servers) instead of 4 people per server (8 servers/or 2 days)
20:36 <K-Yo> I see
20:36 <K-Yo> well
20:36 <K-Yo> on map making, you decide spawn points per team?
20:36 <K-Yo> (I'm a noob at maps :P)
20:37 <freako5> uhm... the spawn points are random I always thought.
20:37 <freako5> only not for sumo
20:38 <freako5> This is rather hard....
20:38 <K-Yo> freako5, actually, they are not
20:38 <K-Yo> freako5, you play on ctwf sometimes?
20:38 <freako5> hardly ;)
20:38 <K-Yo> :P
20:39 <K-Yo> let me find the map i'm thinking about
20:39 <freako5> the 7 sumo-s map?
20:40 <freako5> Let me explain the map thats needed: 2 Zones of 1vs1vs1vs1 - that the teams only rotate/or not rotate in their own zone
20:41 <K-Yo> freako5, yes
20:41 <K-Yo> freako5, so, you'll have 8 teams of 1 player
20:41 <freako5> yes
20:41 <K-Yo> aah
20:41 <K-Yo> but maybe the 7 sumos are not like I think
20:41 <freako5> ah :/
20:41 <K-Yo> no, no, wrong Idea
20:42 <K-Yo> I think it's just that spawn_points are widely separated
20:42 <K-Yo> i'll look the code
20:42 <freako5> I can always stalk z-man :p
20:43 <K-Yo> freako5, yeah, only 2 spaw points :P
20:43 -!- zmanuel [n=manuel@p50873240.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #armagetron
20:43 <K-Yo> freako5, why zman?
20:43 <freako5> I can always stalk him, to make it ;)
20:43 <freako5> xD
20:43 <K-Yo> hehe
20:44 <freako5> so does that mean its possible atm or not?
20:44 <K-Yo> I doubt it
20:44 <K-Yo> P4, booh
20:44 <K-Yo> he'll know better
20:44 <freako5> mmmm.... whose the spawn point expert here
20:45 <freako5> zmanuel: question for u :)
20:45 <freako5> zmanuel: Do u know if its possible to create a sumo-map
20:45 <zmanuel> No, it's a hack, don't ask!
20:45 <freako5> haha ;)
20:45 <freako5> mmm... so it isn't possible without hacking...
20:46 <zmanuel> Depends on what you want.
20:48 <freako5> Were trying to make a sumo map for a new tourney, and every server should have 8 players in total
20:48 <freako5> 2 zones, of 1vs1vs1vs1
20:48 <freako5> With the current sumo system, It will advantage the lower-ranked player.... because they will get in the noob*-zone
20:49 <guru3> epsy: ive turned off my tst server
20:49 <freako5> So we need to assign 1 zone to 4 players (both zones) And those 4 players may only play in that zone
20:50 <freako5> it doesnt matter the players rotate or not though
20:50 -!- tronner [i=p4@unaffiliated/tronner] has quit [Read error: 60 (Operation timed out)]
20:50 <zmanuel> well, just distribute the spawnpoints randomly
20:51 <zmanuel> spawn 1 goes to zone 1, spawn 2 to zone 2, spawn 3 to zone 1 again, and so on.
20:51 <zmanuel> Ok, not really random :)
20:51 <zmanuel> As long as you're guaranteed to have 8 players, they'll always get mixed up.
20:52 <zmanuel> and if there's less than 8 players, the holes will split evenly.
20:52 <zmanuel> So at 4 players, you get two zones with a duel in each.
20:53 <zmanuel> And if you want to disable vulturing into the other zone, make a wall between them.
20:57 <freako5> aha :), it should work... but it still would be fucked when someone doesnt show
20:57 <freako5> :(
20:58 <epsy> [20:51] <zmanuel>: and if there's less than 8 players, the holes will split evenly.
21:00 <freako5> What does *the holes will split evenly* mean?
21:00 <epsy> well, 7 players, 8th spot jumps out
21:00 <epsy> 4-3 players
21:00 <epsy> 6 players, 7th and 8th jump out
21:00 <epsy> 3-3 players
21:00 <epsy> etc
21:00 <epsy> now the problem is with two players
21:01 <epsy> unless zmanuel has a hack for that, too
21:02 <freako5> Seems it can only be random then- only random always gives advantage/disadvantage
21:02 <epsy> spawning is not random
21:03 <freako5> I know, but the players place in the rankings will give it a random spot mostly
21:03 <epsy> not really no
21:03 <freako5> vs random players
21:04 <freako5> It looks random, (it isnt I know) but it-s more fair then the current system
21:04 <epsy> I doubt it
21:04 <freako5> I mean for a tourney,.
21:04 <epsy> the same noobs will be constantly beaten and wont ever get a fight of their level of skill
21:05 <freako5> thats the point of an tourney,, if u don't have the skills to win from someone else. U will be beaten
21:06 <freako5> and, relying on hacked servers wouldnt work either, because getting 4/5 hackers servers is hard
21:07 <K-Yo> freako5, ct|kyle said (we can somewhat do that)
21:07 <freako5> offtopic: k-yo welcome to twg3 ;)
21:08 <K-Yo> freako5, thx ;)
21:08 <K-Yo> freako5, started yet?
21:08 <freako5> not yet.. I guess we need a few more.. but it sounds like fun :)
21:09 <freako5> but it needs armahacktron servers?
21:13 <freako5> mmm... internet is getting updated again (damned dutch internet / although it gets fast again :))
21:13 <epsy> it's the intertubes 3.0 ?
21:13 <freako5> so I g2g, I'll ask ya later k-yo
21:14 <freako5> it's the intertubes 3.0 ? - ?
21:14 <epsy> [21:12] <freako5>: mmm... internet is getting updated again (damned dutch internet / although it gets fast again :))
21:14 <K-Yo> okay
21:15 <K-Yo> freako5, yes, the server will need armahacktron I think
21:15 <freako5> Many dutch-internet providers are merging, so much people get their internet speeds (dl/upload speeds changed
21:15 <K-Yo> freako5, forget it, the command just reverses the order (from lower to better instead of better to lower)
21:16 <epsy> and the prices, too, I guess :P
21:16 <freako5> aha,,, to bad :(
21:16 <freako5> we are lucky, :) mine is getting faster for the same money ;)
21:17 <epsy> nice
21:17 <epsy> how much?
21:17 <freako5> uhm download: 15 Mbit/s upload: 1.5 Mbit/s
21:17 <epsy> eh
21:18 <freako5> lets search for the price (although I don't pay it)
21:19 <freako5> mmm... around 30 euro-s per month (were in a high priced city)
21:20 <epsy> noramlly it would be how much euros otherwise?
21:21 <epsy> for €30 i currently have 28mb up 1mb down; soon 100mb 50mb down :o
21:22 <freako5> mbit?
21:22 <epsy> yeah
21:22 <epsy> not milli
21:23 <freako5> 50 mb down... that like 6 megabyte per second download speed :O
21:24 <freako5> ur near paris? because I heard internet was crazy cheap there
21:24 <epsy> I meant 100Mb down 50Mb up
21:24 <freako5> a 100mbit home connection, mm nice
21:24 <epsy> brb
21:24 <freako5> bbl ;) cya
21:25 <freako5> if need to get off before 21.30 :/
21:25 <freako5> ;)
21:25 <luke-jr> freako5: what?
21:25 <luke-jr> 100 mbit home connections are standard outside the USA
21:25 <luke-jr> heck, Korea has gigabit home connections standard
21:26 <freako5> 100mb isnt that uhm 12.5 megabyte/s download speed?
21:26 <madmax> 100mbit sure isn't standard around here
21:27 <BabyBug> or here!
21:27 <freako5> were much lower I guess
21:27 <BabyBug> that's 100 times faster than my internet!!

• Website was created by nelg
• Design:
» Layout is loosely based on an old design by Durf.
» Icons on the tools page were originally by Royce, new icons added will try to follow some of the design language.
» Various other icon selections include icons from Crystal, crystalsvg, oxygen, and breeze icon themes.
» Other icons: fontawesome

is a site that has tools, maps, and other various items. It orignally only existed as a server control panel, but I slowly began adding stuff such as a homepage and tools.

This is an LLM-free zone. In general, I am unwilling to use (fight with) any form of "GenAI" to write code for me. So, for the forseeable future, everything on this site will continue to be written by a very silly goose (wait that's me honk honk) with some parts written by other humans as well (silly hu-mon) rather than any plausible-series-of-words token-eating machine. Even my libraries are out of date, and suddenly that's a good thing!
(Although the style has changed several times and content has been added and changed, the base of this site has barely been updated since 2015. But it Ain't Broke!)
This site is also occasionally tested with older browsers, but compatibility is not guarenteed. Although, if you have an old obscure browser and something isn't working that previously did, I guess you can tell me (nelg) about it...
