(https://github.com/discord/discord-rpc). This will allow a user with the Discord client open to announce his presence within Discord itself. Basically, when mousing over a users name in Discord it would say something like "Playing RetroCycles" with a details line like "In Server Rx~ Loose Dogfight". I think this would help with getting people in the game when friends are on, especially given the various armagetron advanced discord servers that already exist. In a github issue though (https://github.com/discord/discord-rpc/issues/290) one of the devs stated that the new SDK uses the same underlying tech and current implementations shouldn't break. Its the same tech you would see if you followed their guide on rolling your own RPC client.
