10:22 <z-man> yes :)
10:22 <pippijn> hm..
10:22 <pippijn> the sidemenu size is absolute
10:23 <pippijn> the fonts are relative
10:23 <pippijn> I could make the sidemenu size relative to the fontsize

20:50 <pippijn> does the new one work?
20:50 <pippijn> oh
20:50 <Mixnetwork> which new one
20:50 <pippijn> never mind
20:50 <pippijn> no, don't deinstall yet
20:50 <pippijn> first compile, then deinstall the old one, then install the new one
20:50 <Mixnetwork> the one we installed yesterday works and runs
20:50 <pippijn> and I just heard that there is no ladder for 0.3.0
20:51 <pippijn> so if you want a ladder you probably need a script to parse ladderlog.txt
20:51 <Mixnetwork> argh
20:51 <Mixnetwork> no laddderß
20:51 <Mixnetwork> ßß
20:51 <pippijn> no ladder.txt
20:51 <Mixnetwork> argh ??
20:51 <Mixnetwork> lol
20:51 <pippijn> it's commented out in the code
20:51 <z-man> Then don't use 0.3.0
20:52 <pippijn> indeed
20:52 <pippijn> or write a script to parse it :)
20:52 <Mixnetwork> hmm, want to have map_rotation
20:52 <pippijn> z-man: ROUND_SCORE -2 pippijn pippijn
20:52 <pippijn> what does the first and the second pippijn mean?
20:53 <z-man> Player name and team name.
20:53 <pippijn> ah, okay
20:53 <pippijn> and both may contain spaces, right?
20:53 <z-man> no, only the second.
20:54 <pippijn> player name cant
20:54 <pippijn> ?
20:54 <z-man> no, it's the internal user name.
20:54 <pippijn> ah, is it underscored?
20:54 <z-man> Yes, it's the filtered player name in current versions.
20:54 <pippijn> good, very good
20:55 <z-man> spaces become underscores, non-ascii characters too (some get filtered to lookalikes)
20:55 <z-man> and everything is lowercase.
20:55 <z-man> With authenticated players, you'll get the players unique authenticated name there instead.
20:55 <z-man> But that's too new stuff :)
20:56 <pippijn> I don't mind rewriting my parser for new versions
20:56 <z-man> The idea is that you don't have to rewrite it, the authenticated name will also be space-less.
20:57 <pippijn> ah, good
20:57 <Mixnetwork> is the ladderlog of the armagetronad-0.2.8.2.1 same as for armagetronad-0.3.0
20:57 <z-man> Yes, I think they are identical.
20:57 <Mixnetwork> ok
21:04 <Mixnetwork> talked with a friend of mine which is a good php writer, he told me that the ladderlog.txt gets too big to parse
21:04 <z-man> Well, you parse it one session at a time.
21:05 <z-man> Every time the server restarts, you move it away, and then have it parsed.
21:05 <Mixnetwork> hmm
21:05 <Mixnetwork> so ever restart a new ladderlog txt
21:05 <z-man> yep.
21:06 <pippijn> z-man: then every restart will kill the old achievements..
21:06 <z-man> of course, you keep them in a database.
21:06 <pippijn> ah, okay
21:06 <Mixnetwork> hmm , very complicated
21:06 <pippijn> not really
21:06 <Mixnetwork> i am not always the when the server restarts
21:07 <z-man> You'll need to automate it, of course.
21:07 <pippijn> then your php friend can surely write you a script that does it all automatically
21:07 <Mixnetwork> he can, but he said that is too much work for him ;)
21:07 <pippijn> aw
21:09 <Mixnetwork> why the don't programm an easier way for ladder won rounds and matches, everyone wants to display that on his websiite
21:09 <pippijn> probably too resource intensive
21:09 <pippijn> Mixnetwork: sam ereason why ladderlog is too big to parse
21:09 <z-man> It is easy with 0.2.8 :)
21:10 <Mixnetwork> well he wrote for me a php for that version that work fine but with ladder.txt
21:11 <luke-jr> Mixnetwork: ladder is not won rounds and matches
21:11 <z-man> Why do you want to upgrade anyway?
21:11 <Mixnetwork> map_rotation i want
21:11 <z-man> That's possible in a script, too.
21:12 <Mixnetwork> its build in in version 3
21:12 <z-man> Or you could extract the map rotation code from 0.3.0 and backport it to 0.2.8.
21:12 <Mixnetwork> it runs already on my home pc
21:12 <Mixnetwork> if that is possible
21:12 <Mixnetwork> but i have no idea how to do that
21:13 <z-man> You'll need to work with the code.
21:13 <Mixnetwork> lol
21:13 <z-man> Sorry, there is no easy solution without some sort of coding.
21:13 <Mixnetwork> i am not a programmer unfirtunately
21:14 <luke-jr> Mixnetwork: you could just participate in the ratings and link people to your server's individual ratings
21:14 <Mixnetwork> now i use a script for map rotation, but it cost too much resources
21:14 <luke-jr> that's the easy solution ☺
21:14 <luke-jr> Mixnetwork: that's because it's PHP
21:14 <luke-jr> and PHP wastes resources ☺
21:14 <pippijn> :)
21:14 <Mixnetwork> hmm i know, don't know other solution
21:15 <Mixnetwork> there is one , i read it in the forum but i did not get it to work
21:15 <luke-jr> Mixnetwork: http://ratings.armagetronad.net/download/
21:17 <Mixnetwork> what do i do with that?
21:17 <luke-jr> tail -Fn0 ladderlog.txt | ./sendstats.pl SERVER-NAME PASSWORD
21:18 <luke-jr> then you get: http://ratings.armagetronad.net/*SERVER-NAME
21:19 <Mixnetwork> hmmm, ok, i must see what i do, i tried the script eddie made
21:19 <Mixnetwork> but was to complicated for me too
21:19 <luke-jr> this one is simple
21:20 <Mixnetwork> its for ladder
21:20 <Mixnetwork> ?
21:20 <luke-jr> no, ratings
21:20 <luke-jr> better than ladder
21:20 <luke-jr> ladder gives people lots of points for killing n00bs
21:20 <Mixnetwork> oh, ok
21:20 <Mixnetwork> need a simple rotation script fo map change
21:20 <Mixnetwork> after each match

21:25 <wrtlprnft> i wasn't aware of that second feature o_O
21:26 <luke-jr> lol
21:28 <z-man> Yeah, I can remove it again. it's basically to make sure that after the server announced you got points for holding the base, you don't lose it :)
21:34 <wrtlprnft> i still like my old solution, though
21:34 <z-man> And that was?
21:34 <wrtlprnft> SCORE_WIN 6
21:34 <wrtlprnft> FORTRESS_CONQUERED_SCORE 4
21:34 <z-man> Ah, yes. Does that still work?
21:34 <wrtlprnft> the zones collapse a little early
21:35 <wrtlprnft> basically, if both teams conquer the enemy's zone at about the same time the first one only gets a 6 point lead over the other
21:35 <wrtlprnft> and if it's 1v1 and you win by defending you get less points than if you win by attacking
21:36 <pippijn> hmm
21:36 <z-man> Ah. How about we disable the collapse if fortress_held_score is 0?
21:37 <pippijn> excellent
21:37 <pippijn> z-man: I did as you said
21:37 <wrtlprnft> that sounds like a nice idea
21:37 <pippijn> store the hiscores in a database and update that each restart
21:37 <pippijn> I just store it in a perl storable file on disk
21:38 <pippijn> the resulting html gets generated once per restart
