04:12 <Lucifer_arma> GodTodd: grrrrr, heh
04:13 <Lucifer_arma> I was hoping you'd tried to use korganizer and might have some pointers for me
04:13 <Lucifer_arma> do you copy all of your assignments from the syllabus to the student planner?
04:14 * Lucifer_arma is laboriously copying the assignments from 5 syllabi to korganizer
04:19 <luke-jr> now if Lucifer_arma wasn't ignoring me, I might have a pointer or two for him
04:19 <luke-jr> oh well
04:19 <luke-jr> his loss :D
04:21 <DrJoeTron> Lucifer_arma <luke-jr> now if Lucifer_arma wasn't ignoring me, I might have a pointer or two for him
04:21 <DrJoeTron> <luke-jr> oh well
04:21 <DrJoeTron> <luke-jr> his loss :D
04:22 <Lucifer_arma> costs and benefits, it's just not worth it
04:22 <DrJoeTron> you're missing out on super valuable information from luke-jr!!
04:22 <Lucifer_arma> that's benefits (arguably), but the cost is to stop ignoring him :)
04:23 <DrJoeTron> why dont you just ban him :V
04:24 <Lucifer_arma> he's still got OP, he'd just unban himself
04:24 <Lucifer_arma> not much point otherwise, I saw the effect of his conversation in #qt a little while ago
04:24 <Lucifer_arma> you know, people getting frustrated and pissed and stuff
04:34 <DrJoeTron> so why cant he just get demin'd
04:34 <luke-jr> DrJoeTron: cuz I'm a good admin

04:36 <DrJoeTron> a smallmin?
04:37 <Lucifer_arma> therefore, "abuse of power" in irc is a petty view
04:37 <Lucifer_arma> I like to think of it more like doing someone a favor
04:37 <DrJoeTron> abuse of power on the internet is a petty view
04:37 <Lucifer_arma> getting kicked from #armagetron means "go do something outside, with people"
04:37 <Lucifer_arma> i.e. don't be an antisocial prick :)
04:38 <Lucifer_arma> in that light, it's more like a privilege
04:38 <Lucifer_arma> an invitation to self-improvement
04:38 <Lucifer_arma> how can that be abuse?
04:39 <DrJoeTron> actually it should be more like "lol ppl still use irc?"

04:51 <Lucifer_arma> so, if I have a list of to-do items, and only one possible category I can put them in, and those items represent homework assignments, readings, and tests,
04:51 <Lucifer_arma> should they get a category by class, or by type of assignment?

06:20 <GodTodd> stupid motherfucker
06:20 <Lucifer_arma> jesus fucking christ
06:20 <GodTodd> isn't that the ultimate in masterbation?
06:21 <GodTodd> i bet luke-jr has his client keyed in on the word jesus
06:21 <GodTodd> ;)
06:22 <GodTodd> anywho....got your calendar thing worked out yet?
06:23 <Lucifer_arma> no, but we'll see
06:23 <GodTodd> will we? ;)
06:24 <Lucifer_arma> I'm trying to get something that is reasonably easy to manage electronically, provides a useful printout to put in my notebook, and syncs meaningfully to my pda
06:24 * GodTodd has no pda and just found it easier to pencil in everything on a calendar
06:24 <Lucifer_arma> oh shit, that reminds me, I need to make sure the calendar itself is good so I can print out the next few months
06:25 <GodTodd> korganizer, right?
06:25 <Lucifer_arma> you know, I'll just use the calendar on my pda, the only reason I'd want a hard copy is for information that I just put on my todo list anyway
06:25 <Lucifer_arma> yeah, korganizer
06:25 <GodTodd> have you finessed the printing so that it doesn't cut anything off?
06:25 <Lucifer_arma> er, no such problem on the todo list?
06:25 <GodTodd> ah, ok...not printing the actual claendar?
06:25 <Lucifer_arma> and, uh, I've never had such a problem with korganizer
06:25 <GodTodd> alendar*
06:26 <Lucifer_arma> *calendar
06:26 <GodTodd> calendar* grrr
06:26 <Lucifer_arma> my school has a touch-typing class, you know
06:26 <GodTodd> bah...i got a D in one of those in high school :)
06:26 <Lucifer_arma> really?
06:27 <Lucifer_arma> I took the semester-long one, got an A, and was typing faster than the big-breasted teacher when it was over
06:27 <GodTodd> anyway...i had a hell of a time when i first started using korganizer that the calendar would get cut off...finally found the right settings and it works beautifully now
06:27 <GodTodd> i use it for the kids' activities
06:27 <Lucifer_arma> it was one of my few As in high school, and the only one that wasn't a math class
06:27 <GodTodd> you have that blond chick?
06:27 <Lucifer_arma> she was the only one, I think
06:27 <GodTodd> i think so too
06:28 <Lucifer_arma> she was living proof that whatever else a woman might look like, large breasts can compensate
06:28 <GodTodd> haha
06:28 <GodTodd> true dat
06:29 * Lucifer_arma is considering if it would be useful to print the calendar
06:29 <Lucifer_arma> I printed the calendar my first semester for every month, but never used it
06:29 <Lucifer_arma> oh yeah, gotta put the xprizecup stuff on it still
06:29 <Lucifer_arma> but it syncs nicely to my pda (as long as I forget about having ever wanted to use the google calendar)
06:29 <GodTodd> i print the one for the kids so's the inlaws have our family schedule each month
06:30 <Lucifer_arma> that's information I'd rather share electronically :)
06:30 <Lucifer_arma> I hate having to remember to print new copies to update people, and then dealing with what happens when they lose the new copy and keep using the old one
06:30 <GodTodd> yeah, well, my motherinlaw prefers hard copies for the fridge
06:30 <GodTodd> heh
06:30 <Lucifer_arma> there is an advantage to having a hard copy on the fridge, I can't deny that
06:31 <Lucifer_arma> which is why I'm considering printing anyway, so my wife can see my schedule
06:31 <GodTodd> she puts it by my father in law's work schedule
06:31 <Lucifer_arma> since she won't use google calendar anyway, so sharing calendars there is useless
06:31 * Lucifer_arma thinks he was born about 20 years too early for the amount of electronic information sharing he wants to do
06:32 <GodTodd> yeah...we keep a hard copy on the fridge too...tho the calendar in my notebook is specific info on tests, homework, labs and such...stuff that only i need to know
06:32 <GodTodd> that stuff i'll share verbally when needed
06:32 <GodTodd> :)
06:36 <Lucifer_arma> yeah, well, it would be nice sometimes if my wife could look at the calendar and just take the kids away
06:36 <Lucifer_arma> would be better if we had a big enough house that there was a place I could go..... ;)

06:37 <MrBougo> hehe, time for the usual endless discussion between GodTodd and Lucifer_arma

07:01 * Lucifer_arma wonders how badly he should try to get As in his welfare classes
07:01 <GodTodd> shouldn't have to try too awfully hard in those ones
07:02 <Lucifer_arma> well, there is a lot of reading and writing in the reading/writing class
07:02 <GodTodd> you don't say! :)
07:02 <Lucifer_arma> but it's setup so that I could finish with a C early, like in early November, and be finished
07:03 <GodTodd> work to a C then just coast to an A or B
07:03 <Lucifer_arma> to get an A, you have to write two more papers after that
07:03 <GodTodd> hrmm
07:03 <Lucifer_arma> I did that for comp 1, and finished the class a couple of weeks early
07:03 <Lucifer_arma> (did that == wrote the A and B papers and still finished early)
07:04 <Lucifer_arma> that was a 9 hour semester, and the other two classes were insanely easy
07:04 <Lucifer_arma> psych and intermediate algebra
07:04 <Lucifer_arma> I wish I could do pass/fail and not have the letter grade to hurt my gpa
07:05 <Lucifer_arma> more important than that, why doesn't korganizer print the categories when you print the todo list?

07:25 <Lucifer_arma> your learning style?
07:25 <GodTodd> yep
07:26 <Lucifer_arma> ah
07:26 <Lucifer_arma> extra credit for that?
07:26 <GodTodd> yeah...like 5 or 6 points on a test
07:26 <Lucifer_arma> I think I should do at least one statics problem before I go to bed
07:27 <Lucifer_arma> maybe it's worth 5 or 6 points on a test because the teacher can customize for your learning style? ;)
07:27 <GodTodd> i finished my physics problems early :)
07:27 <Lucifer_arma> well, these aren't due until next week, but I really need to have at least attempted all of them before wednesday
07:28 <GodTodd> that's what he's aiming for, yeah
07:28 <GodTodd> yeah...mine aren't due til thursday night at 11
07:31 <Lucifer_arma> they call this a cdrom?
07:32 <GodTodd> is it a cd you can only read from?
07:36 <Lucifer_arma> it's a teeny tiny cd
07:36 <Lucifer_arma> it's also totally worthless, just advertising for an online service
07:36 <Lucifer_arma> they couldn't just include a link, they had to include a bullshit cd
07:36 <Lucifer_arma> I hope I didn't pay extra for that
07:36 <GodTodd> ah...yeah...people seem to be going to those little mini cds
07:36 <GodTodd> and ads on cds are just stupid
07:37 <GodTodd> hrmm...should i read now or tomorrow on one-dimensional motion?
07:38 <Lucifer_arma> now
07:38 <Lucifer_arma> how long can it take?
07:38 <GodTodd> it's 15 pages or so
07:39 <GodTodd> then i have to read on the origins of civilizations

07:39 <GodTodd> heh
07:40 <Lucifer_arma> I don't know, but I suspect I'm too sleepy to do this problem
07:40 <Lucifer_arma> there's three blocks connected by pulleys, and a spring

07:41 <Lucifer_arma> um, we're split differently
07:42 <Lucifer_arma> we've got texas government and us government
07:42 <Lucifer_arma> I'm taking us government
07:42 <GodTodd> ahhh
07:42 <GodTodd> that's right
07:42 <Lucifer_arma> and the chapter I'm on is the one about the constitution and its historical context
07:42 <GodTodd> ahhh...fun stuff :)
07:42 <Lucifer_arma> which only makes the third time I've done this in the last two years
07:42 <Lucifer_arma> but I have to read the chapter if only to refresh my memory on the subject well enough to test
07:43 <GodTodd> yeah...basically study to the test
08:20 <Lucifer_arma> ahhh
08:20 <Lucifer_arma> yeah
08:20 <Lucifer_arma> hm
08:20 <Lucifer_arma> I hate government classes
08:28 * GodTodd too.
08:29 <Lucifer_arma> well, I just read part of Federalist paper #10, where it appears that madison took it for granted that all people would always think for themselves
08:29 <Lucifer_arma> seems that he couldn't imagine a state of the country where a small minority could influence and/or dictate the thoughts of the masses to the extent needed to walk right into an autocracy
08:32 <GodTodd> yep

• Website was created by nelg
• Design:
» Layout is loosely based on an old design by Durf.
» Icons on the tools page were originally by Royce, new icons added will try to follow some of the design language.
» Various other icon selections include icons from Crystal, crystalsvg, oxygen, and breeze icon themes.
» Other icons: fontawesome

is a site that has tools, maps, and other various items. It orignally only existed as a server control panel, but I slowly began adding stuff such as a homepage and tools.

This is an LLM-free zone. In general, I am unwilling to use (fight with) any form of "GenAI" to write code for me. So, for the forseeable future, everything on this site will continue to be written by a very silly goose (wait that's me honk honk) with some parts written by other humans as well (silly hu-mon) rather than any plausible-series-of-words token-eating machine. Even my libraries are out of date, and suddenly that's a good thing!
(Although the style has changed several times and content has been added and changed, the base of this site has barely been updated since 2015. But it Ain't Broke!)
This site is also occasionally tested with older browsers, but compatibility is not guarenteed. Although, if you have an old obscure browser and something isn't working that previously did, I guess you can tell me (nelg) about it...
