08:14 <Lucifer_arma> weeee
08:14 * Lucifer_arma just got back from Sea World
08:14 <Lucifer_arma> well, a couple of hours ago, anyway

08:15 <MrBougo> was it fun?
08:15 <luke-jr> ...
08:15 <MrBougo> lol luke wanted to come with you
08:15 <luke-jr> you wish
08:17 <Lucifer_arma> yeah :)

08:17 <Lucifer_arma> both my sons on this: http://www.seaworld.com/SWT/ar_journey_atlantis.aspx
08:18 <GodTodd> Lucifer_arma: get sunburned? ;)
08:18 <Lucifer_arma> nah, I don't burn
08:19 <MrBougo> oho
08:19 <Lucifer_arma> well, my legs saw sun for the first time in years, so I think I burned the back of my calves
08:19 <MrBougo> hehe
08:19 <luke-jr> my family can't be outside in the sun for even an hour without going to the ER for sunburn
08:19 <Lucifer_arma> we wore swimsuits for the Lost Lagoon
08:19 <GodTodd> luke-jr: all part of god's plan :)
08:20 * GodTodd wonders how you can go to a lagoon that's lost...
08:20 <luke-jr> GodTodd: yeah, we stay inside when the sun's overhead
08:20 <GodTodd> luke-jr: that's what happens when you're descended from cain
08:20 <luke-jr> GodTodd: since it was capitalized, it is likely a proper noun
08:20 <luke-jr> and not really lost
08:20 <luke-jr> GodTodd: nobody's descended from Cain
08:21 <GodTodd> luke-jr: it was a joke
08:21 <luke-jr> indeed
08:21 <GodTodd> luke-jr: you are :)
08:21 <Lucifer_arma> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steel_Eel
08:21 <Lucifer_arma> slightly more information there
08:21 <Lucifer_arma> it's a pretty tame roller coaster, on the whole
08:21 <Lucifer_arma> I didn't manage to talk my daughter into going on the Great White
08:21 * GodTodd hates roller coasters
08:22 * luke-jr also
08:22 * Lucifer_arma loves roller coasters and is happy to have kids that also love them :)
08:22 <MrBougo> whats the great white?
08:22 <MrBougo> hehe
08:22 <MrBougo> i dont
08:22 <Lucifer_arma> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_White
08:22 <MrBougo> how old are your kids luci?
08:22 <luke-jr> GodTodd: we have a lot in common!
08:22 <Lucifer_arma> 8, 7, and 4
08:22 <GodTodd> luke-jr: thanks...now i need prozac
08:22 <Lucifer_arma> it looks like the steel eel actually goes faster than the great white, but it doesn't do any loops
08:22 <luke-jr> :)
08:22 <Lucifer_arma> nor corkscrews
08:23 <Lucifer_arma> http://www.rcdb.com/ig532.htm
08:23 * GodTodd organized his home directory a bit
08:23 <GodTodd> that was fun :)
08:24 <Lucifer_arma> http://www.rcdb.com/ig278.htm <--- the one I wanted to take my daughter on, but she didn't want to go
08:24 <Lucifer_arma> (not the same as wussing out, wussing out is "I'll go!" and then, well, wussing out)
08:25 <Lucifer_arma> well, if I don't manage to land a job in aerospace, maybe I can go design rollercoasters

12:47 <epsy> hi philippeqc2 =)
12:49 <luke-jr> mkzelda: wtf?
12:51 <philippeqc2> epsy, you recall that "model" to allow easy scripting of AA's main loop? I found a problem with it.
12:52 <philippeqc2> It doesn't cover the case where players are to be allowed to join a round
12:52 <epsy> what are you talking about
12:52 <epsy> these ideas only stayed in my head
12:52 <luke-jr> lol
12:53 <epsy> blocking me to sleep
12:53 <philippeqc2> o poor lil you.. want me to sing you a lollaby?
12:53 <philippeqc2> ;)
12:53 <philippeqc2> didnt you try to implement at least a similar concept?
12:53 <epsy> what i think about is some bindings to most of the functions that composes a round into the scripting engine
12:54 * epsy slaps himself
12:54 <epsy> « try to implement » is a big word
12:55 <philippeqc2> the binding idea is good, but I think the whole loop could need a bit of reorganising
12:57 <philippeqc2> too much seems crammed in there
13:03 * philippeqc2 is performing a lot of work recently using my Jedi-coder senses. If something feels like the right thing, then no need to sit and analyse it and try to understand it. And strangely enough, it IS the best implementation, and DOES fix the problem without introducing new ones.
13:05 <philippeqc2> friday I was doing some agile/pair programming with my boss. 6 hours in a row of doing that Jedi thing and not being wrong kinda get to your head. And impress your boss.
13:08 <philippeqc2> luke-jr: have you continued to learn OO programing (or C++)
13:13 <epsy> heh
13:14 <epsy> well, that's true...if we want some kind of decent gameplay modding...we need cleanup :/
13:14 <philippeqc2> epsy: i dont know the amount of work it would take or which you are willing to put, but said changes would greatly benefit the project, and will probably be needed in the end to make what you desire possible.
13:15 * epsy dreams....the capture the admin mode hahahahah

20:22 <luke-jr> Qt string: QString
20:22 <philippeqc2> seems good old C++ to me
20:23 -!- Hoax- [n=Ed207@dyn-62-56-82-78.dslaccess.co.uk] has quit [Client Quit]
20:23 <luke-jr> C++ doesn't support signals/slots, for example
20:23 <luke-jr> Qt adds that capability
20:24 <luke-jr> also an XML dialog layout format
20:25 <philippeqc2> convenient to make GUI's
20:26 <luke-jr> http://doc.trolltech.com/4.3/desktop-screenshot.html
20:26 <luke-jr> cross platform screenshot app
20:26 <luke-jr> http://doc.trolltech.com/4.3/demos-undo.html Undo framework
20:27 <luke-jr> there's also conveniences like the forever{ ... } loop
20:27 <philippeqc2> convenient framework overall
20:27 <luke-jr> which is more or less while(1) { ... }
20:27 <luke-jr> :)
20:30 <philippeqc2> it is a neat c++ framework
20:30 <luke-jr> it's a language =p
20:30 <luke-jr> that's like saying C++ is a neat C framework

20:32 <philippeqc2> they dont even seem to hold that idea. I dont know what makes you beleive that Qt is a language
20:32 <luke-jr> it redefines the standard string, and also adds statements
20:32 <luke-jr> that puts it beyond doubt on my part to be a new language
20:32 <luke-jr> C++ is no more a language than Qt is

20:33 <philippeqc2> making a new string object doesnt make a language last time i checked

20:33 <philippeqc2> then you would beleive that cppunit is a new language too
20:33 <luke-jr> no idea wtf cppunit is
20:33 <luke-jr> but Qt changes as much of C++ as C++ changes of C

20:35 <luke-jr> what is it?
20:35 <philippeqc2> A C++ unit testing framework.
20:36 <luke-jr> don't need a unit testing framework
20:36 <philippeqc2> ???
20:36 <philippeqc2> since when
20:37 <luke-jr> what would I possibly need a unit testing framework for?
20:37 <luke-jr> i write bugfree code
20:37 <luke-jr> :p
20:38 <philippeqc2> well, once you pass the 200 line of code cap, that might not be as true as you'd like it to be
20:38 <luke-jr> passed that about 10 years ago
