19:27 <madmax|pt> Hmm, the AA article on wikipedia voted for deletion?
19:30 <wrtlprnft> apparently
19:30 <wrtlprnft> apparently we're not important enough for the big allmighty wikipedia
19:31 <wrtlprnft> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GLtron
19:31 <wrtlprnft> can you tell me how this is more important than arma?
19:31 <madmax|pt> this sucks
19:32 <madmax|pt> well, it isn't
19:33 <madmax|pt> "Can't find any evidence of notability as Wikipedia defines it, so I request deletion."
19:33 <wrtlprnft> then why does arma have a deletion request and GLTron doesn't
19:33 <wrtlprnft> ?
19:33 <madmax|pt> well that's a good point
19:33 <wrtlprnft> I won't add it right now, but if arma gets deleted I'll start a deletion request for GLTron as well
19:34 <madmax|pt> btw, is the GLTron development dead?
19:34 <wrtlprnft> well, dead or really slow
19:38 <madmax|pt> what's the point in deleting an article of a quite unique game? :/
19:39 <madmax|pt> hmm, maybe PMC has an affiliation with GLTron
19:39 <wrtlprnft> ?
19:40 <wrtlprnft> that just a guess or did you find a connection somewhere?
19:40 <madmax|pt> just a guess :)
19:44 <wrtlprnft> #google fight "Armagetron Advanced" GLTron
19:44 <armabot> wrtlprnft: GLTron: 9490, Armagetron Advanced: 6280
19:45 <wrtlprnft> and “Armagetron Advanced” is waay longer than “GLTron”
19:46 <madmax|pt> hmm, GLTron was voted for deletion too by PMC? but then "AfD speedy closed" o_O
19:46 <madmax|pt> http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=GLtron&action=history
19:48 <wrtlprnft> why does it link to boson?
19:49 <wrtlprnft> and wtf is boson?
19:49 <madmax|pt> yeah
19:50 <madmax|pt> this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boson_(computer_game)

19:53 <wrtlprnft> yeah, i followed that link :)
19:54 <madmax|pt> lots of fuss on its deletion discussion
19:55 <wrtlprnft> it's the same thing on the german wikipedia, some people just running around and wanting to delete pages

20:01 <madmax|pt> isn't arma bundled with some linux distributions?
20:01 <wrtlprnft> many provide packages for it
20:02 <wrtlprnft> anyways, who the f is master5.armagetronad.net?
20:11 <wrtlprnft> dumb question: http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/19015 ← would this qualify as nontrival published work about arma?
20:14 <madmax|pt> if it does, you might add this too http://www.frsirt.com/english/advisories/2006/2836
20:16 <wrtlprnft> at least it's proof that we're important enough for security companies to fuss about :)

22:52 <guru3> no evidence of 4rd party coverage
22:52 <guru3> doesn't it come with like ubuntu or something?
22:52 <guru3> didn't we have a review on linux gamers?
22:53 <wrtlprnft> well, there's a lot of arma reviews/description/links in directories, but they don't count
22:53 <wrtlprnft> http://directory.fsf.org/armagetron_advanced.html ← like that
22:56 <guru3> if AA comes with a linux distro
22:56 <guru3> it meets the requirements to stay on wikipedia

22:57 <guru3> i don't know what distro it comes with :(
22:57 <wrtlprnft> as i said, if they don't like that i'll give them links to security advisories about arma :P
22:57 <wrtlprnft> any ubuntu users out here?
22:59 <Durka> hi tank
23:00 <MaZuffeR> does this count as 3rd party: http://jayisgames.com/archives/2006/11/armagetron_advanced.php
23:01 <wrtlprnft> worth a try
23:01 <wrtlprnft> it certainly 3rd party, but i wonder if it will be important enough for the allmighty wikipedia
23:05 <guru3> found a good loophole
23:05 <guru3> we count for notability if the content was distributed via a well known independent medium
23:06 <guru3> so for example many early versions of armagetron i know for sure came included in distros
23:06 <guru3> and i'm pretty sure we didn't have anything to do with that
23:06 <guru3> and since the armagetron link on wikipedia redirects to armagetron advanced
23:06 <guru3> they have to keep us :D
23:06 <wrtlprnft> tell them
23:06 <guru3> it's on the page
23:07 <guru3> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Armagetron_Advanced
23:07 <wrtlprnft> ah
23:08 <guru3> i know i never made an 0.2.7.0 package for suse
23:12 <spidey_> um
23:13 <spidey_> it comes with ubuntu
23:13 <spidey_> mandrivia i believe
23:13 <spidey_> i "think" it's on the mepis repository
23:14 <guru3> i could ask a friend to make sure it comes with frugalware
23:15 <spidey_> if this stupid thing ever installs without freezing half way, i'd tell you if it was on the raw debian repository :/
23:15 <guru3> im sure 0.2.7.0 is in the repository for 3.0

is a site that has tools, maps, and other various items. It orignally only existed as a server control panel, but I slowly began adding stuff such as a homepage and tools.

This is an LLM-free zone. In general, I am unwilling to use (fight with) any form of "GenAI" to write code for me. So, for the forseeable future, everything on this site will continue to be written by a very silly goose (wait that's me honk honk) with some parts written by other humans as well (silly hu-mon) rather than any plausible-series-of-words token-eating machine. Even my libraries are out of date, and suddenly that's a good thing!
(Although the style has changed several times and content has been added and changed, the base of this site has barely been updated since 2015. But it Ain't Broke!)
This site is also occasionally tested with older browsers, but compatibility is not guarenteed. Although, if you have an old obscure browser and something isn't working that previously did, I guess you can tell me (nelg) about it...
