[2021-01-11 16:05:45] <Z-Man> Armanelgtron: My rule for such things: If nobody complained, nobody cared :)
[2021-01-11 16:06:39] <Z-Man> (I knew because the pipelines were failing. I wanted to tell you, but not without analysis, and then always forgot....)
[2021-01-11 16:09:06] <Z-Man> Anyway, if you want, you can have automated builds now! You just would need to activate the CI pipelines over at your Gitlab clone and declare the branches you want builds for as protected (in the repository configuration). That would create downloadable releases like here: https://gitlab.com/armagetronad/armagetronad/-/packages
[2021-01-11 16:09:48] <Z-Man> The version number is that bizarre because Gitlab only accepts NUMBER.NUMBER.NUMBER there. At least it doesn't care about leading zeroes.
[2021-01-11 16:10:29] <Z-Man> I could set up a runner for you that then does the actual building if you don't want to take up the Gitlab provided shared runners.
[2021-01-11 16:14:49] <Z-Man> Or, of course, we could simply set up a protected branch on the main repository. That would already use my runner and could deploy to all the places the regular builds go. Even Steam if you'd like. The downside there is that you would not have full control then, you'd have to issue a merge request to that branch every time you want a build. Everyone with unrestricted access to protected branches can steal all the credentials.
[2021-01-11 16:14:58] <Z-Man> Of course, no reason not to do both :)
[2021-01-11 16:16:12] <Z-Man> (Steam builds would go to one of the 'beta testing' branches, obv.)
