[2020-10-04 22:04:06] --> Z-Man has joined the channel
[2020-10-04 22:51:18] <Lucifer_arma> Z-Man: yes! They also put a new microwave and water heater in it
[2020-10-04 22:51:34] <Lucifer_arma> they fucked up a few other things, and they're meth heads/heroin junkies, so there's that
[2020-10-04 22:52:15] <Lucifer_arma> the meth exposure on the first night almost, but not quite, led to me having a bit of a lapse. But luckily, since I was a drunk, it was all emotional, not the result of a previous addiction to meth
[2020-10-04 22:52:48] <Lucifer_arma> second night, we went in in our improvised hazmat suits, meaning we wore our covid19 masks, nitrile gloves, and sprayed chemicals all over the place
[2020-10-04 22:53:34] <Lucifer_arma> we still have a lot of cleaning to do, but I'm 99% certain I found all the dirty needles, at least. We also had to reattach the driveshaft, because the idiot that stole a perfectly running RV (I know it ran, I made it run!) was going to tow it out because he'd filled the cockpit up with too much of his hoard
[2020-10-04 22:54:15] <Lucifer_arma> he also installed a new power module, and for some reason, a power switch. In the process, he killed the DC system, so the lights that I installed don't work currently from the battery (that I also installed)
[2020-10-04 22:55:15] <Lucifer_arma> this was the RV that didn't have a working generator. I bought an $80 generator that was too tall for the bay, and he stole it while I was still figuring out how to modify the generator bay to accomodate the generator I had bought
[2020-10-04 22:55:46] <Lucifer_arma> I threw the carburater away when I was convinced I'd never see the RV again, so now I have a generator with no carb. But it's ok, because it still doesn't fit in the bay.
[2020-10-04 22:56:06] <Lucifer_arma> I can see signs that the idiot was trying to make it work, but without the carb, there was no way, heh
[2020-10-04 22:56:53] <Lucifer_arma> the new RV has a working generator. We got it fixed up and running, so I'm going to move it into the old RV. The old RV is luxurious and big and nice and stuff. It actually has a separate "living room" and kitchen/dining area. Also, the bedroom is way more comfortable.
[2020-10-04 22:57:12] <Lucifer_arma> apparently, here's how it happened:
[2020-10-04 22:57:48] <Lucifer_arma> the thief and his girlfriend were living across the street in the hotel where I'd parked it after I got it running and drove it home. We got the air suspension fixed (mostly), and a few other things (the lights).
[2020-10-04 22:58:26] <Lucifer_arma> the thief stole it, and he and his girlfriend moved in. At one RV park, they were basically a pain the ass, made a bunch of noise, caused problems, had a lot of traffic through there (drugs and/or prostitution)
[2020-10-04 22:58:32] <Lucifer_arma> they got kicked out for being assholes
[2020-10-04 22:59:35] <Lucifer_arma> at some point, the thief changed the license plates. Since he couldn't get it registered, he stole purple heart plates from someone. (For y'all non-americans, the purple heart is for military personnel who get injured saving someone, usually in combat, and are usually awarded posthumously. If you survive getting the award, you can get license plates saying you're a purple heart veteran)
[2020-10-04 23:00:09] <Lucifer_arma> then he moved into the RV park where he got caught, continued to piss on everyone, etc. They were so fucked up on heroin and meth that they were causing all sorts of problems.
[2020-10-04 23:00:37] <Lucifer_arma> Now, with covid19, we have eviction moratoriums in place. They don't apply to people who would get evicted for reasons having nothing to do with non-payment of rent, however, but you have to go through the courts.
[2020-10-04 23:01:10] <Lucifer_arma> So the park owner ran their plates and saw that they went to some mid-90s Nissan car, not an RV, and went through the courts to get them evicted. They had the cops come out three times!
[2020-10-04 23:01:21] <Lucifer_arma> They'd also cut off their electricity.
[2020-10-04 23:01:53] <Lucifer_arma> The third time the cops were there, they saw the old plates just sitting inside the door of the RV and decided to run them. That's when it came up stolen. They arrested the guy, called me, and we went out there.
[2020-10-04 23:02:39] <Lucifer_arma> The girl was able to claim no knowledge of any of it, except the drug use, but not drug possession. Drug *use* isn't illegal. So she didn't get arrested yet, but may be in the future if he flips on her to try to bargain with his sentence.
[2020-10-04 23:02:54] <Lucifer_arma> So she drove away in their fucked up van that I recognized from the hotel parking lot.
[2020-10-04 23:03:33] <Lucifer_arma> The cops took out the TVs and computers, ran them, and none of them came back stolen. We're absolutely certain, as are the cops, that some of the shit was stolen, but without proof, there's no charge for those.
[2020-10-04 23:03:46] <Lucifer_arma> Then they released it to us with all the remaining junk in it.
[2020-10-04 23:04:11] <Lucifer_arma> My son's tools that were in it when it got stolen are still lost. They're not in it now, unless he tucked them into one of the storage bays that I haven't looked in yet.
[2020-10-04 23:05:06] <Lucifer_arma> My tools were all there, the ones that were in there anyway (the bulk of my tools weren't in it when it was stolen), and the guy had a bunch of tools of various kinds. So we got two more chordless drills, and there's a drawer with a number of chorded power tools we still have to go through, plus a bunch of wrenches and sockets and screwdrivers and shit
[2020-10-04 23:05:22] <Lucifer_arma> I'll augment my own tools and throw a bunch of 'em to my son, who's now working at a real mechanic shop
[2020-10-04 23:05:55] <Lucifer_arma> We also got a portable air compressor. Don't know if it works, yet, but it ought to be worth a couple hundred dollars if we sell it.
[2020-10-04 23:06:33] <Lucifer_arma> There's a real nice soldering station, a propane torch (shitty one). Also, the propane tank my son bought for me is still there, so after I get the propane system working I'll be able to devote that propane tank to a real torch
[2020-10-04 23:07:12] <Lucifer_arma> because it turns out that propane is almost as hot as oxy-acetylene, when you hook it up with an O2 tank. Combined with my arc welder, that'll put me in great shape for metalworking.
[2020-10-04 23:07:38] <Lucifer_arma> Basically, we come out ahead in the whole thing, but at the cost of having to do our own hazmat cleaning of the interior because we can't afford to pay the pros for it.
[2020-10-04 23:12:26] <Lucifer_arma> and we now have two RVs, which is twice as many as we actually need.
