[13:36:56] <Z-Man> Great, the forums are borked. Was deleting a batch of attempted spam posts, now they're in limbo, showing up in some views, not in others.
[13:41:36] <Z-Man> Oh hey, "Resync"ing the individual topics in the forum's MCP got rid of them. Also got the one zombie topic that has been haunting/stalking us for probably years.

[19:05:38] <AmarokNelg> why dont you just give the forums a stronger captcha
[19:05:43] *** AmarokNelg is now known as Armanelgtron
[19:05:52] <Armanelgtron> less manual combating of spambots
[20:21:20] <ct|kyle> speaking of captchas, I remember the one Xevi added to CT forums a long time ago, to copy the text, he had the logic on it flipped, bots got in, people could not
[21:34:40] <Armanelgtron> the recaptcha "I'm not a robot textbox" almost helps, other than the fact it makes me match images nearly every time I check the box (whether it be recognizing cars, storefronts, whatever)...but a few spambots seem to have gotten through... lol
[21:38:36] <Armanelgtron> it seems to work well for most people though, so maybe I'm just a n00b who doesn't move his mouse correctly :P
[21:39:50] <Armanelgtron> or maybe Google is right and I really am a robot! beep boop!

[21:50:48] <ct|kyle> Armanelgtron: I usually have to do 2 or 3 of them each time
[21:51:18] <ct|kyle> I hate those, is this 5 pixels of a street sign, suposed to be elected or not
[21:51:54] <ct|kyle> It does not force me to do it every time though, i think it's typically a time based thing
[21:53:47] <Armanelgtron> I heard somewhere it had something to do with how you moved your mouse - a user would move their mouse choppily while a bot would move it smoothly or something
[21:55:20] <ct|kyle> bot would be a strait line quickly, where we sometimes have a slight wavy motion
[22:30:16] <ct|kyle> It also may be by number of times, just did one twice on a site
