16:31 <G5_Ger> CBA ... cool, Ive never seen this ... from the Urban Dictionary: Can't Be Arsed. Unwilling to expend energy on the task in hand. May be used more generally in reference to the state of mind where nothing at all seems remotely worth doing. "Yeah, it's due tomorrow morning, but I've got the cba."
16:32 <G5_Ger> Ill use this a lot from now on :)

22:54 <spidey> oh btw
22:54 <spidey> are you going to a community college?
22:55 <Lucifer> yes, I am
22:55 <Lucifer> why?
22:55 <spidey> do you know if you have to have your sats or acts for a community college
22:55 <Lucifer> depends on the school
22:55 <Lucifer> in my case, the school does an assessment test to see where you're at
22:56 <Lucifer> if you need any developmental classes, you're required to take them or you can't have your grades for any non-developmental classes
22:56 <spidey> did i tell you i'm not going to vocational school, they don't have the courses i want
22:56 <Lucifer> community colleges are supposed to have open enrollment, and take everybody, and SAT and ACT scores are usually used as a filter
22:56 <spidey> it's basically training to become geek squad, and their's probably nothing they could teach me in that area x_X
22:56 <Lucifer> no, you didn't tell me that
22:57 <Lucifer> heh
22:57 <Lucifer> they could teach you how do sudo something
22:57 <Lucifer> of course, you and GodTodd (hi there!) both have been pretty quiet this semester
22:57 <spidey> they don't have software development courses, which is what i was wanting to take
22:57 <Lucifer> you've been bit by the programming bug, haven't you?
22:58 <Lucifer> you know that shit's fatal!
22:58 <spidey> lol
22:58 <Lucifer> before you know it, you'll have one tab in firefox open to some interesting webpage, and 6-7 open to api docs
22:58 <spidey> it's nothing i couldn't learn on my own, and i'm not too found of them making me take VB classes, but i just want the degree xD
22:59 <Lucifer> I don't know, man. I think I'd rather go to Guantanamo Bay than take VB classes
22:59 <Lucifer> waterboarding sounds like much more fun
22:59 <spidey> haha
22:59 <Lucifer> at least you'll have a good foundation in what *not* to do
23:00 <Lucifer> just whatever you do, absolutely do *not* let them stick you with VB so that you can't do anything else
23:00 <Lucifer> don't let them poison the well!
23:00 <spidey> the program has c++
23:00 <Lucifer> over in #qt, we get ex-VB programmers every now and then
23:00 <spidey> courses
23:01 <Lucifer> fuckers are stubborn, and insist on doing things that are just screwy
23:01 <Lucifer> you can't reason with them!
23:01 <spidey> http://www.jscc.edu/academics/departments/computer-information-systems/programs-of-study/software-developer-concentration.html
23:01 <Lucifer> so yeah, take the C++ stuff for fun and games, and wear a costume or something to the VB classes
23:01 <spidey> that'll be the courses i'm taking
23:01 <spidey> haha
23:02 <Lucifer> doesn't look too bad, really
23:02 <Lucifer> you do realize that a lot of the programming courses will actually have minimal programming, right?
23:02 <spidey> yea
23:03 <Lucifer> there's a whole lot of theory that is useful and applicable in any language, and the most useful and skilled developers can port their skills amongst many languages
23:03 <Lucifer> so the degree plans tend to be laid out like that
23:03 <Lucifer> what sorts of electives are there for you?
23:03 <Lucifer> Database Development == SQL, hopefully
23:04 <Lucifer> might be MS SQL Server-centric, but that's fine

23:09 <Lucifer> CIS 127 Game Programming
23:09 <Lucifer> Credit Hrs: 3 Pre-Req: None Co-Req: None
23:09 <Lucifer> This course is designed for those ready to jump into the exciting world of game programming. The course will introduce the new programmer to the skills needed to create your own custom games. In order to get the most out of this course, a basic understanding of programming concepts would be helpful.
23:09 <spidey> Lucifer, yea, like i said i already know most of it ;p

23:14 <Lucifer> linux is a requirement too
23:14 <spidey> oh, that reminds me
23:14 <Lucifer> anyway, there's a simulator to use to do the programming, and we're working on a physical robot to test the programming
